Connecting COST Actions

Networking, Collaboration and Opportunities

As part of BelBi 2026, a COST satellite event will be organized to promote European COST Actions working at the intersection of biology, translational biomedicine, bioinformatics, multi-omics, and computational approaches in biomedical research. The event will bring together representatives of several interdisciplinary COST Actions that share common scientific interests in molecular profiling, omics data integration, biomarker discovery, systems medicine, and innovative strategies for understanding complex human diseases.

The satellite event aims to strengthen collaboration between COST networks, encourage the exchange of expertise, methodologies, and best practices, and foster new interdisciplinary interactions among researchers working in the fields of inflammation, cardiovascular diseases, cancer biology, immunology, and precision medicine. By connecting COST Actions with complementary scientific expertise and related research themes, the event will contribute to strengthening collaboration within the broader biomedicine and bioinformatics community, increasing the visibility of COST activities in the region, and facilitating new partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

In addition, the event will provide students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers with an overview of the networking, mobility, and training opportunities offered through COST Actions, including Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs), training Schools, and conference grants. The event is designed to encourage young researchers to become actively involved in European scientific networks and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Program Highlights
